A strikingly shade of yellow. Some call it Kachchi haldi, some call it mustard – we call it the winny yellow. The weavers named it after Winni Narayan ji, “Sari Stylist on a mission to make the sari hip”. This sari has a story, we found it difficult to sell the uniquely coloured fabric – made from the left overs of sampling for a designer’s label, and hence engaged Fakhrul bhai the zardozi artisan of Baragaon to turn it into a star- studded sari. Something that caught winni’s eye and remains a dazzling piece for her to style- at times with hot pink and sometimes with subtle whites.
